  • LASH LIFT – GINGERLILY BEAUTY SPA & NAIL BOUTIQUE

Below are photos of me Before (left)  and After (right) my Lash Lift at Gingerlily Beauty Spa & Nail Boutique.

If you look closely at the “Before” photo you will see my lashes point straight and therefore it looks like I don’t have much going on in the eyelash department. If you look at the “After” photo on the right Boom! I have beautifully curled lashes that appear fuller too. I promise you these photos don’t really do them justice. The treatment instantly gives your eyelashes much needed lift, separation, and extra definition without the need to go for fills every two to three weeks.

I love the drama eyelash extensions create, but unfortunately I am allergic to either the glue or the gel pads used during the application. I will go into more detail in my next post dedicated to eyelash extensions.

Cleo from Gingerlily was kind enough to send me the step-by-step process she follows when doing a Lash LIft.

    1. We remove all traces of make up with oil free make up remover. Then allow the lashes to dry for 5 minutes.
    2. Apply the gel eye pads to the bottom lashes.
    3. Apply the silicone shield to the upper eyelid right along the lash line. You use a applicator brush to apply the glue to the silicone shield prior to placing it down.
    4. You then use a small micro brush to apply glue in small sections to the silicone perm shield. You will then slowly start lifting the lashes onto the perm shield ( you must always make sure the lashes are straight and not overlapped). Always remember the lashes will curl in the direction that you apply them to the shield in.
    5. Use the pink perm lotion to perm the lashes. You then remove the perm lotion after the allocated time.
    6. Use the blue setting lotion and then remove after the allocated time.
    7. You then remove the silicone ahead by using a damp sponge tipped brush to gently loosen the glue. You then lift the lashes gently off the shield. Once the lashes are free use a damp cotton pad to gently wipe the eye area clean.
    8. Tint the eyelashes.

Lash Lift is the gentle alternative to lash extensions, a lash lift essentially takes your natural hairs lining your lid and gives them a dramatic and noticeable curl. I opted to have my lashes tinted as well to make them pop even more. It takes about 45 minutes from start to finish, lasts anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks, and unlike with extensions, you can wear makeup and your natural lashes won’t be impacted. The deal breaker for me is that it is low to zero maintenance, and if you really wanted to put on mascara after the treatment you can do so after an hour or so provided you steer clear of any oil-based makeup removers.

I would definitely recommend a visit to the Gingerlily Beauty Spa & Nail Boutique. Thank you Cleo for taking the time to give us a step-by-step guide on how you perform a lash lift x
